James Acheson-Gray is the managing director of APCO Worldwide’s London office and helps oversee the company’s international presence. Mr. Acheson-Gray is an accomplished communication consultant with more than 17 years of experience in managing consultancies and regional networks in both Europe and Asia. He specialises in corporate reputation management, issues and crisis management, and business-to-business public relations, spanning a wide range of sectors including energy, food and financial services.
Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Acheson-Gray held a number of senior management roles at Grayling, serving most recently as managing director, international. During his tenure with the firm, he also managed international new business and marketing for all offices and oversaw the firm’s relationship with several high-profile clients.
Mr. Acheson-Gray was managing director of Grayling’s London office from 2008 to 2009. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years in Asia as managing director, Grayling Asia, having established the company’s Asia presence in 1999. Mr. Acheson-Gray was part of Grayling’s successful management buyout team in 2004, which then sold to Huntsworth plc. He joined the company as a graduate trainee and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Durham.
