Christina Lai is a senior director and market lead in APCO Worldwide’s Hong Kong office. She has more than 20 years of experience in the communications industry and specializes in stakeholder engagement and issues management.
Ms. Lai most recently served as director, reputational risk management and reporting for Standard Chartered which she joined in 2007. During her time with Standard Chartered, she held regional and global corporate affairs roles and advised senior leadership on public affairs, reputational risk management, stakeholder engagement and external communications. Ms. Lai also gained extensive experience in issues and crisis management.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Ms. Lai worked for six years in APCO Worldwide’s Hong Kong office leading a range of strategic communications and public affairs accounts. She also played a key role in an APCO team that was embedded for three years with Invest Hong Kong, a government department responsible for attracting inward investment to the city.
Ms. Lai has worked for a variety of communications firms and organizations including Weber Shandwick, the Hong Kong Tourism Association and Burson-Marsteller. Ms. Lai was educated in Hong Kong, Canada and the United States and holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
